Hot Tub Privacy Screen: Placement and Panel Options
TL;DR
- Place screens on the sides where people can see into the tub area, and leave room to reach the tub for service.
- PrimeAlux screen panels are 2.6 ft wide by 6 ft high, in Semi-Privacy, Privacy or Privacy Plus configurations.
- Our screens page names decks, patios, rooftops and pools. Hot tub installations are not listed, so ask us about yours.
Sightlines matter more at a hot tub than anywhere else in the yard. The first step is working out who can see into the tub area, and from where.

Placement
Find the sightlines

Sit in the tub, or stand where the tub will be, and look outward. Note the neighbouring windows, decks and gaps in the existing fence. Then do it again from standing height, because a window above you looks down past a screen that blocks a seated view.
Leave access
Keep the tub's service side clear, and keep your path to it clear. Check your hot tub manufacturer's instructions for clearances, and check your local bylaw for anything that applies to hot tubs and the structures around them.
Freestanding or attached
PrimeAlux describes its screens as freestanding and attached outdoor screening panels for decks, patios, rooftops and yard zones. Each panel stands on 80 × 80 mm aluminum posts with a slide-lock system and anchored base plates, and the listing recommends a concrete base about 15 cm deep.
That matters for a deck. Whether a screen can be mounted to a deck surface or frame is available upon request, so ask before you plan around it.

Panel options
The screens page lists the same three configurations as the fence line, and states that the product system is the same.

| Configuration | What it does |
|---|---|
| Privacy | Fully closed, slat-to-slat, with no gaps |
| Semi-Privacy | 14 slats with a 13 mm spacer between each, so some view and airflow pass through |
| Privacy Plus | Overlapping slats with an added H-profile reinforcement |
Privacy has no gaps between slats. Semi-Privacy lets light and air through, and the gaps are visible at close range or from the side. Choose by how much of the view you want to keep.
