Fence Panel Quote Checklist: What to Ask Before You Order

Two fence quotes can look similar and cover different things. One may include posts and the other may not. This list gives you the lines to compare, so that you are comparing the same job.

Panel type, size and colour
PrimeAlux sells three panel options: Privacy, Semi-Privacy and Privacy Plus. The quote should say which one. All three list 80 × 80 mm aluminum posts. The slat length for the 6 ft wide section is 1785 mm. For any other width, ask for the slat length on the quote.
Privacy and Semi-Privacy sections are 6 ft high by 6 ft wide. 8 ft wide sections are available in Privacy Plus. A custom size is available through direct contact. The finish comes in four standard colours, and the slats run horizontal or vertical. If a quote leaves out the colour or the orientation, ask for it to be added.

The fence listing is a panel kit that includes posts and panels. The gate listing is a kit that includes posts and hardware. Ask how many posts your layout needs, including the end and corner posts, because a quote that counts only the posts between panels will come up short.
Foundation and installation
The Privacy panel specification recommends a 15 cm concrete foundation, and Semi-Privacy lists a minimum 15 cm concrete layer under the base plate. Ask whether concrete, anchors and labour are on the quote or are your responsibility. An installation manual is linked from each product page.
