No rust, no rot

Aluminum does not absorb moisture, so freeze-thaw cycles do not crack or warp it. There is no wood to rot and no steel to rust.

Low upkeep

Slats need only an occasional rinse to stay clean. The PrimeAlux limited warranty asks for documented cleaning twice per year, following the PrimeAlux cleaning instructions.

Finish

Panels carry a UV-resistant 3-layer and powder coating, so there is nothing to paint or stain.

Recycled content

PrimeAlux panels contain up to 70% recycled aluminum content.

Built for Brampton: Fence Rules, Areas and Delivery

These points come from the City of Brampton and the Province of Ontario. Rules change, so confirm with the City before you order.

Fence height

Brampton’s Zoning By-law limits a fence to 1 m (39 in) in the front yard and 2 m (6 ft 6 in) in a rear or side yard. The City says it does not require a permit to build a fence, but a fence around a pool does need one. A corner lot has extra height limits, so ask the City about yours.

Two zoning by-laws are in play

Council approved a new Zoning By-law 14-2026 on February 4, 2026. It is under appeal, and the City says By-law 270-2004 and the new one both apply, with the most restrictive provision prevailing. The Council draft raises the limits to 1.2 m in the front yard and 2.2 m elsewhere, so the 1 m and 2 m figures above are the ones to plan around.

Where Brampton is growing

The City’s secondary plan list includes Bram West, the Vales of Castlemore, Vales of Humber, Snelgrove-Heartlake, Bramalea and Downtown Brampton. Heritage Heights in the northwest, between Mayfield Road and the Credit River valley, is described by the City as among its last undeveloped areas, and the Ontario Land Tribunal has approved its secondary plan.

Hiring an installer

Brampton’s By-law Guide says contractors who install fences need a City business licence. PrimeAlux does not install, so ask any installer you hire for their Brampton licence.

Colder than downtown Toronto on paper

The Ontario Building Code’s climatic data puts Brampton at 215 m above sea level, against 90 m for Toronto City Hall, with 4,100 heating degree days a year against 3,520 for Toronto. Aluminum does not absorb moisture, so freeze-thaw cycles do not crack or warp it.

Aluminum Fence in Brampton: FAQ

How tall can a fence be in Brampton?

The City of Brampton’s Zoning By-law limits a fence to 1 m (39 in) in the front yard and 2 m (6 ft 6 in) in a rear or side yard. Corner lots have further height limits, and a new zoning by-law under appeal would raise the limits slightly. Check with the City before you order.

Do I need a permit for an aluminum fence in Brampton?

The City says it does not require a permit to build a fence, but a fence around a pool needs a pool enclosure permit. Brampton also asks you to confirm the fence is not on a neighbour’s or City property. PrimeAlux does not install fences, so ask your installer for their Brampton business licence.

How much maintenance does an aluminum fence need?

Slats need only an occasional rinse to stay clean. There is no painting, staining or sanding. The warranty does ask for documented cleaning twice per year, following the PrimeAlux cleaning instructions.

What does the PrimeAlux warranty cover?

The PrimeAlux limited warranty lists 20 years for aluminum metal, 15 years for coated aluminum fence and 10 years for powder coated aluminum extrusion profile, and requires the fence system to be cleaned twice per year following PrimeAlux cleaning instructions. Our warranty and care guide explains what the documents say.

Has the fence been tested?

Each test report names what was tested, and the results apply to those specimens only. The ASTM E84 fire report covers the PrimeAlux Privacy Slat fence system: flame spread index 0 and smoke developed index 50. The ASTM E90 acoustic report covers the PrimeAlux Horizontal Privacy Plus 6'W x 6'H: STC 22 and OITC 19.

Do you ship across Canada, and can I visit?

PrimeAlux was established in 2019 and serves all of Canada and the US. Delivery options, dates and fees are confirmed by our sales team. The showroom is at 2222 South Sheridan Way, Unit 116, Mississauga, ON, open Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
